The August 2009 edition of BBC wildlife magazine included a mention of the farm. David Lindo aka The Urban Birder wrote a piece entitled ' Go wild in the capital ', he had visited the farm on Sunday the 21st June ( click for his report ). Below is his BBC piece
....The final stop on our tour this weekend was briefly my local patch back in the 1980's, when it was a sludgy, smelly sewage works with restricted access, so my return was a real eye-opener. Allied with the futuristic Hackbridge Sustainable Suburb Project, it has an enviable bird list, with at least 150 species recorded every year.
Migrating raptors are one of the highlights, with nationally scarce species such as honey buzzards passing through most years; this spring more than 50 buzzards drifted over in three days. During late summer, expect to see migrants, including seabirds such as Arctic skuas and kittiwakes. The site also has the honour of hosting Britain's largest breeding population of tree sparrows.
